Some motor pics
Discussion
I promised to post up some pics of the refurbished carburettors, for those of you who like looking at shiny old motors Am really pleased with the efforts of Carburettor Specialists & EFI 2003 Ltd - based in Carlton Gore Rd, New Market. The customer service was excellent. Everything is basically like new now, just have keep them clean from now on.
All new connectors, new hoses, polished stainless steel ties the works. Now just have to get a mate of mine to help me match and repaint the Lotus orange on the covers. Have updated my car blog in my profile so am not going into too much detail here
Nothing is ever finished on a Lotus, hence more work to be done over the next 12 months $$$ Purely optional of course

I have noticed performance improvements such as smoother acceleration, turbo spooling up quicker (turbo done as well and basically new), Plus cold starting is much better. I haven't really put it through its full paces yet, but got a fair idea that overall its better
WOW! those tooters have come up really nicely, thats the trouble with webers, all of the cars I've owned with them have always been manky. I've never been able to get them into the sort of state that they should be in - and yours now are...
BTW are there many about in NZ? I'm currently looking for a triple set...

The engine has twin Dellorto DHLA 45 carburettors, not Webers also and runs a Garrett T3 turbocharger.
Are you meaning lots of Esprits around or Webers around of this era?
My model being an 89Esprit Turbo there were only 103 produced. There aren’t many around in NZ (which I like btw) you see more of the SE’s around and later models, as they made more of them.
In my late teens I seen a similar car brand new in a central cars sales yard in CHCH, I forget the name think it was next to where they sell Range Rover today. I never forgot it, until five yrs ago one came up in Auto Trader as a do up pretty much identical model and colour from what I could honestly remember. I didn’t even take it for a test drive I just bought it took it home and parked it up and stared at it for two weeks. I then plucked up the courage to drive it – fcuk!!!. We are a special breed of people aren’t we????? Or idiots I have never worked out in what category we fall in.
Anyway the wheels are coming off this weekend to check pad wear and helping to do some work on my mates mint calypso red Esprit SE so should be a good weekend
