Is an Elise an Open Car?

I was talking with the scrutineer for this weekends dual sprints and his opinion was that an Elise would be OK to run in the dual sprints but not the multi-car in the arvo.

Rationale was that there was body structure above and behind the drivers head unlike say, an MGB

which 'they' white man? - sorry, context: whether a stock Elise can compete in a dual sprint event in consideration of Schedule A and roll protection requirements - anyone had any first-hand experience?
