Car preservation…. Every car must have one

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Parts-Other-makes/Other/auction-65108176.htm

A little OTT don’t ya think? OK own up …..who has one? Perhaps if the car was in the millions I might consider it

Friend of mine in the UK has one for his S1 Exige. brilliant bit of kit actually - but if your car isn't worth millions, it's for GJOBers. Does keep the moisture out incredibly well though. Maybe I should buy this and live in it? Bound to have less condensation than this house

These are a great idea, some of the cars in the storage place I used for a few months before finding a garage to house the Ult were in them, and they were mostly old porkers or beamers at that, with the leather interiors, so it helps to stop them drying out...

Around Auckland I'd be worried about the salty humid air, not so good for exposed metal, esp alloys, so one of these would be a good thing...

For long-term storage I think it's a BRILLIANT idea... oo much hassle for anything less than a few months though.

They're not actually TOO pricey.... if you had a car that you wanted to keep in top nick, such as a show/concours car, especially a low-mileage original then it's all good..... if your car is a "runner" like most of ours are where we enjoy them on the road first and in the garage second then it's a little overkill as stonechips will do more damage than the odd bit of moisture every now and then

great idea for the UK as there is one word that describes a typical british garage over here and that is "damp".

Another word describes the roads for 8 months of the year and that is "salty". It still amazes me how quickly cars rust over here.
