Here's a link to a thread with some pics of the Ferrari Airfield day I attended on Friday. There's a couple of pics of me at the top, taking another Ultima owner for a 'burn' around the coned section.

Quite a good value for money event at £30 even if the surface was a bit rough, plus as it was at an Airfield, there was some stunt planes doing synchronized loops with smoke over our heads.
I had varying degree's of success, mostly having trouble getting into the right gear, still I came close enough to the instructor, Andy Walsh?'s time to be happy... It'd be nice if they saved a bit of Wheneuapai for this kind of thing...
Better start saving for that new pair of rear tyres...

Looks like a great event.
Don't hold your breath for Whenuapai. It'll get ploughed over to make a lentilist commune . . . unless someone was to bring an Ultima back to NZ to inspire and galvanise the local PH community.

Isnt that planned for the smaller airfield off Hobsonville Rd? Its such a sore point with the Westharbian community. Mind you every suburb has them. Those $3Mil propertys around Hobby will be worth much less once the benefit seekers move in. Well hope not anyway
Yep, some fond memories of North Weald and First Lotus here too. Andy had some great driving techniques to offer. I learned heaps from him in just a few hours and had the most tyre smoking fun in the Griffith I'd had in 2 years ownership - and this was just the day before it was sold on (the new owner-to-be having generously consented to me keeping my booking on a 'you break it you fix it' understanding ).
