Personalised Plates

Due to making a purchase with www.plates.co.nz they have offered me 15% discount on buying another plate at $509.14. I don't really need another so if anyone wants to buy one at this price let me know, offer ends on 10 Aug.
I bought TVR 2 and for the purple MGF I got PIRPLE but now in a dispute with the supplying car dealer on that so may not need PIRPLE after all so if anyone knows an owner of a purple car let them know!
Or if you've a good idea for a plate I can change it for let me know, but no taking the pi55 please.

If noone takes you up on it just buy a voucher. Surely supply and demand would make it worth only a fraction less than a new plate.
I remember buying my pplate for $310 brand new. Then when I took it off my car (still have the plates, theyre sitting on my dresser) it cost $13 to put ordinary ones back on...hows that for a markup

God the prices a steep now huh. I was complaining when I handed over $400 now $600? Almost a new set of cheap road tyres I guess the beauty about it though there are still plenty of great plate options left which is fantastic if you really want one. I scored IOTUS and hubby 30TWO for his 32 roadster. I missed out on buying ARTIST as I didnt want to $500 for it two yrs ago wish I did.

PIRPLE sorted so now staying.
Can aftermarket plates be bought as the front one for the TVR doesn't fit properly in the aperture.

Aftermarket plates aren't exactly legal, but they can be done.
Any signwriter worth his salt could make you one from pukka reflective material on some sort of plinth any size you want.
I've got a 1/2 size plate on the front of my Elise and I've never been pulled for it.

So I can't go to Repco and get one? I'll check the yellowpages out for signwriters, any suggestions?
Alls I know is that the original owner of my car was a shop fitter. He made a plinth out of a sheet of perspex/acrylic and had that signwritten.
See the pic below and although it's blurred out you can see the size of the plate. It's amazing I've gotten away from it really as I know a lot of others that have been hassled with non-standard plates (mainly rears) but I think the cops just see that I've got a small plate on the car for a reason (it's too small to fit a full size one).
We've also got a stick-on on the E-type on the nose of the bonnet. It's full size, and identical to the standard plate in every way (same font and all) but just in a stick-on transfer. again not been given any issues..... I guess a cop in a bad mood COULD do you a $200 fine for it if he wanted to but in general they can see that you're doing it for a reason and let you off. If you're being a boyracer and you give the cop some lip, then I'm guessing they might not be so lenient
