Hi, just emigrated to NZ - another pom I'm affraid. Here's my car. She's not insured yet and my computer got zapped by something in Greek when I tried to join the Lotus club to get an authorisation card (I think that is what I need to keep the harnesses in).

I've had quite alot of help and advice from a couple of guys who post on here. I have posted on UK forums, but I'm well happy that I've been pointed to this one. I have sooooooooo many questions

Cheers,

Richard

Plus the registration documents arrived yesterday and I left them on top of the car outside the house and they blew away (honestly) - can I get some new ones?

Get Insurance Now !!! . . . was that gentle enough

Welcome to NZ

I presume you're in Queenstown for the skiing ?

Yes, you can get replacement registration documents. Just go back to where you got them.

Woah, awesome ride dude. Whereabouts in the country are you located?

Please say Dunedin/Otago, because i've only ever seen one Elise.

If I recall correctly, that is the statue of the sheep dog outside the Church of the Good Shepherd at Lake Tekapo. That is a stunning photo mate, looks like you're getting a good taste of what NZ has to offer! Good luck in the new land and we'll do everything we can to help you and that beautiful car of yours.

(And yes I'm in Aussie but someone had to do it. Really. Don't hold it against me.)

Welcome from another emigrated pom. Let me know if you ever visit Welly.
Unless you have standard seatbelts as wekk as harnesses, my undesrstanding is that your car has to have a motorsport log book and be used for 2 events per year to get a harness exemption.
I have the same problem as my Caterham only had harnesses and I have had to downgrade to get it on the road.. working on the log book and some Sprinting now.

Enjoy the roads down there.

Welcome in Mr G.

I'm George (also Esprit on SELOC) so I'm familiar with your story.... was a GREAT write up BTW

Lovely car and a GREAT place to enjoy it!

Look really forward to meeting you on the LOT thing later this year

Oh and Ian, speaking of the LOT trip... when are details of this being finalised? I want to figure out what parts of the trip I can make and what it's gonna cost me

Hi Richard, if your South Island based you could also try and join this club too www.lotus.org.nz/index.htm They do quite a few events and I beleive the club is growing steadily. All the best for your new country, enjoy

Richard,

Send Tony Ingram an e-mail: tonyD0Tingram ATatmconceptsD0TcoD0Tnz (if you can decipher that) as he's in charge of memberships at CLNZ. he should be able to direct you towards what you need to do.

Or... alternatively, click here : www.clublotus.org.nz/uploads/membership.pdf

Fill it in and send it off I'm about to do the same as my membership needs renewing

Oh thats great news, its a fantastic place and climate is really nice. Yeah the CLNZ website has been hacked a few times of late by low lifes. Its getting a face lift soon. You should have access to it now. I am also a committee member along with Tony Ingram, so feel free to contact me also if you really get stuck.

Cheers
Kylie

It's a conspiracy !!

With Richard's arrival there must now be a clear majority of NZ PHers driving Lotuseses (or is that Lotii, I'm never sure )

I think one of you needs to buy an Enzo, Zonda, or Koneggziggziggeggg to even things up a bit.

It's the fashion Graham... give into it... sell your miniature le Mans thingy and get a car with a windscreen.... you know an Elise makes sense!

HEhe but nah... the more Elises the merrier.... within reason of course, can't have them becoming too common now :P

Richard,

Welcome to the site, a good one to belong to, just a pity you couldnt afford a good Volvo S80, (guess what car I have), but seriously, nice car, been to NZ many moons ago, went to New Plymouth, and drove up mount Tarranaki (hope its spelt right), half way up got stuck in the snow.

Lovely place, I envy you a little. Heres the S80 just after I polished it, and just before it rained.
