Yesterday in Takapuna I saw a dark plum M6 ragtop ?

Not sure they exist !!!

Maybe it was a 645 with some sus badges?

Did sound very nice burbling away from the lights

I've never heard of the M6 being made as convertable - hasn't the new one got a carbon fibre roof etc, like the M3 CSL?

Theres a couple of M6's round Dunedin and they definitely have roofs , do sound very tasty though.

probably more likely to be a 645 being a poser-mobile I guess, did it sound like a V8 or a V10? V10's have quite a different engine note from anything else I've heard - more like a flatter-sounding V12 than an V8.

M6 Cabrio hasn't been released as far as I am aware, and I doubt they do any weather testing in Takapuna! Also I don't believe that anyone has described the BMW V10 as 'burbling' at low revs. The M6 Cabrio also doesn't feature on BMW UK's website so if they don't have it there's no way we will.

I would have to conclude that it is the aforementioned poser. Were they of, err, Oriental extraction? They seem to be the worst offenders when it comes to rebadging BMWs.

You're right! Don't know why I didn't realize at the time but it was definitely an 8 not a 10.

The driver was an asian woman that I'd guess was in her late 40's.
