I LOVE AUSTRALIA! :)

Ok, so I've just got here, my first time out of NZ since my last tip "home" to the UK when I was 13. I'm in the Brisbane/Glod Coast region for a week.
Literally 5 MINUTES out of the airport and what drives past us?..... none other than a GORGEOUS Chrome-Orange Lotus Exige S1!!!!!!! I've never seen one because there's none in NZ and anyone who knows me also knows that it's my BURNING ambition to have one of these in the garage to keep my Elise S1 company. From the fleeting glance I got I LOVE it and I will not rest til I have one!!!
I think this is going to be a good holiday
Happy Easter Motoring Y'all ..... we pick up our rental tomorrow (GO THE HYUNDAI GETZ!!!)

George, you're in the Gold Coast and you're on the internet - what's wrong with that picture?
Hehe Well one has to stay in touch.... since I was last on I've been up to the sunshine coast and down to the gold coast (surfers) and loved every minute of it.... take the rental back pretty soon... a couple more days in Brisbane now before flying back home on Saturday Am looking forward to getting a good night's sleep though.... trying to get to sleep here when it's still 25 degrees at 3am is challenging!
Only 25? You must be freezing...
Here in Perth at one point it was over 30 degrees when I was walking to work at 8am in the morning. Certainly kept a smile on my face for the first couple of months! So any plans to make a permanent move over here George? I'm pretty sure the Elise is on the compliance list...

And tell us George, are the women rateable?
Weather seems a bit hot in summer for English people without proper acclimatisation or the will to live under an air conditioning unit!
Hehe I went with my girlfriend so she was the only woman I was looking at (honest!)
As for the heat, it'd be manageable I feel, except maybe in the height of the summer. Just as most British homes are better set-up to take the cold, most Queensland homes are better set up to take the heat... most homes have lockable screens to keep insects and undesirables out while letting a breeze flow which really helps and many have aircon.
The winters would be nice and temperate.

Ahem.. I think something along the lines of "I could sleep with an Australian chick, up until the point she opened her mouth" was said.. after some young Australian ass wandered past us.. on the way into Surfers for our anniversary dinner no less.. Yes, my man is the embodiment of smooth.
There was also the accent back pedalling at the airport, where apparently now that he had encountered a decent cross section of Asutralian accents, some of them weren't so bad.. *shakes her head*
Brisbane is great for a holiday, but it's way too touristy and yokel for my liking.. I'll have to drag him to Melbourne and Sydney before he completely falls for the wrong state
Aussies a great place, so many fantastic places to visit and the shopping is just the business I love Cairns and Port Douglas in the winter and Melbourne in the summer, just scrummy places. I dont care too much for Sydney, never been to Perth though only heard good things about it. I spent a few yrs travelling round Oz for work and loved the place. Somehow I was always drawn back to NZ though, purley cause I would miss the mountains lakes and people here. Also the fact that here in NZ theres no snakes, crocs and truck loads of stinging jelly fish to deal with. Oh and beaches with nets in the water to keep the hungry beasties out is also a turn off too
Will be checking Perth out in the next few years.
