Aeriel Atom in Sumner yesterday ?

Hi All ,
Have finally arrived in Christchurch and loving it so far ! Was with the the family on the Esplanade in Sumner when along come a smart looking Aeriel Atom. Anyone here ??

I did see that Euro cars nz in Christchurch showed the same in stock so it may have been on a demo. I also see that they will be bringing in Nobles soon ........

Hopefully catch up with some of you chaps at some point

I don't think we've got any Atom's amongst the NZ PHers.

I drove one at a test/track-day. Interesting car that perhaps suffers from a conservative suspension set-up and a relatively high mounted engine. Huge fun though

Welcome, James, glad you've finally made it after all that planning. I've only seen on Atom over here, around Paraparaumu about 9 months ago. Left a long line of near accidents in it's wake as people turned to see what the heck it was.

Hi ,
Thanks for the messages. Yes we are renting a place out in the Hills with great views over the city. One thing that amazes me is the steepness of some of the driveways up to the houses and the sharp change in angle as you join the main road. I don't know how people manage with lowered cars let alone sports cars !! Especially if you want to live in a place with a view. I hope there are ways round this if we want to build a place one day ?? I can't see the wife allowing a car to dictate where we live somehow ???!!

Theres an atom importer based in chch , open wheel racing or something, you can have an atom 'experience' for a few hundred $$. Prices are reasonable depending on currency(for atoms anyhow). Havnt seen the one here yet, was up kaikoura last two days so missed it lol. Theres often a selection of nice motors (and bad) cruising round sumner, they all seem to just make it over the speed humps, even the chopped v8 model t or whatever it is.

Could always borrow an atom or whatever see if it makes it over the terrain, seen a 7 around the hills. Not sure what I'd be able to get down my drive, the forester makes it...

Building your own is doable here but plan on 2 years or so.
