Mine was getting lonely so I've bought another one.

Not really, but I believe there will be another one on the way shortly . . .

At least I was unique for a year or so

Graham, if you ever feel like a hand wielding some spanners or perhaps a fresh set of eyes to bounce ideas/problems off, you're more than welcome to get in touch with me. I've even got a full 3-D modelling suite and the nouse to use it if it helps

That goes for any of the rest of you lot too

Hehe could be.... we should have a chat next time I see you. I model in Solidworks, which generally sucks for modelling freeform surfaces but I'm looking to get hold of some *cough* evaluation copies* of Cinema4D and maybe CATIA and do some upskilling... might just be the task I need to get my teeth into it

I've got the SACD Dolby 5.1 version so Track 6 is -

"MONEY"

Is the original numbered differently ?

I wonder how many of us users there are in New Zealand?

Have you tried wildfire? It might produce more favourable results.

Clay modelling – it’s not sophisticated but it works just fine.

O.k o.k so I'm a LURKER

Warning...

I have been lurking on PH for over years now. For the last 5 years I've owned Porsches. Started with a 1977 911s then 95' 993/911 6 speed 3.6 N/A then 91' 944S2 and finally a 965/911 Turbo. All have been GREAT cars and all had there merits. It is true that Porsche ownership is a unique experience. It was quite addictive to be honest. The 911 Turbo was a truly outstanding car and will be missed. All going well the money will change hands next week. I've also liked the 911's as they were a very practicle super car. Back seats, boot, roof, heater/aircon etc. Buying carefully they also held there value well. I paid $96K for my 993 and sold it 1 1/2 years later for $95K and 20,000kms more on the clock.

Now the Westie...
I first found the XTR2 surfing on the web back when it was released. Thought it was a great concept. Read all about it, had all the pics etc. Then one night on Top Gear they had it on the show. At the time I owned a Porsche and thought what a great car. I continually thought about buying one but seeing as there were none in NZ didn't want to be the Guinea Pig to bring one in. The main requirement for me with a sports car is that it needed to be road registerable. I couldn't guarantee with the Westie. One day I was doing a NZ google on them (which I had done before) and came up with a pic of one at an Aucklnad compliance website. I rang them and they informed me that they had complied one and gave me the garages number that serviced the XTR2 for it's owner Rang them and they gave me Graham's number. I rang Graham and told him I was interested in buying one and next time I was in Auckland we met up. Graham spent over an hour with me and we went over heaps of details with him and his mechanic Phil. He also took be for a blast and it was impressive especially after owning a 360hp Turbo. I didn't leave there thinking sell the 911 tho. It wasn't until after the birth of our little girl that travelling in the 911 became less of an experience and more of a chore. I enjoyed long trips more in our Sport Wagon with "the family" and the 911 became more of a track car. I decided in the end to buy the XTR2 as a more sensible track beast and later get a Ford Escape as a tow wagon/family hauler. So that's the plan. I advertised the 911 late last year but only seriously marketed it from March 06. It hopefully goes next week as I have a sale agreement with someone but until the money was in the bank didn't want to say too much. I have done a deal on a XTR2 that I have been looking at for quite some time and once it's "mine" I will post all. I've never liked saying to much n case it all turns to custard.

So that's about it. I must say a BIG thanks to Graham who is a true gentleman with his time and help being invaluable.

A BIG welcome to you James And what a cracking car to enter the PH world with. I'm over on holiday in Oz at the moment but am usually the most prolific poster on here (read verbal dysintary )

Look forward to following your XTR2 purchasing/importing/racing experience. I've met Graham a couple of times too and seen his XTR2 on track once (with only rear brakes!!!) And it's a LOVELY piece of kit.

Welcome aboard Lurker

You are too kind, and most welcome.

With any luck James, you'll be terrorising the local streets in a few months and then look-out Manfield !!!

Yep. Maybe they squeezed in an extra track on the SACD version.
