I'll be there for sure I'm booked in and will be going for a bit of a Fang.... hoping to stay with one or two of the quicker Elises... or at least within shouting distance (note I'm talking about Yat Ming and Peter Schnell, not the quicker 111Rs or ubermachines like Dean's.

Going to try and not break it this time and see if can better my times....got to clean up my line a little and maybe some later braking points....

Going to take my marker cones, very hard to judge the braking point sometimes.

Why not GPS your braking points, get another uber-shiftlight (with a different colour such as blue) hooked up to a GPS . . .

Whenever you get blinded by Blue Light, hit the picks

I'd like to brake later but I'm afraid I'll ruin my MMCs I have a feeling they had a near-death experience last time out at Puke... mind you, puke is not half as bad on brakes as Taupo... I just want to consolidate my quicker times and do some high 1:12s

Maybe I need to get someone with a couple of V8's to show me how it's done.

Were you kidding about the Westie-esque sled ?
- Location ?
- Colour ?
- Distinguishing features ?
- Drivers helmet size . . .

OK now I get it UBER = The word über comes from the German language. During the late 1990's, über became a hip, trendy synonym for super; i.e. übercool - supercool.

I'm so behind the times.....getting old not keeping up with all the new sayings - no hope really !

Anyway back to braking points, I looked at the GPS but with all the other gadgets in the car I'm scared it might draw to much power and I'll slow down....so I'll stick my cute wee plastic road cone thingy for now.....

As for the MMC disc's crapping the bed, George it won't be long before your forced to put on those nasty cast iron numbers, I just got a set brought over by a mate - man there heavy !
I'll have to go on a diet before I can stick those on.....

OK back to my hang over...

And by 2001 is was 'so last millenium'.
(But I didn't start it)

Back to the subject of the thread . . . It now now looks like I'll be able to come along for a look-see (sans-Westie).

The blue car is a home build with Busa engine, very light (sub 500 kgs with driver !)

I think it was featured in Performace Car mag few months back...

Dean, I'll stick with my MMCs on this car.... I'm not getting mega horsepower out of it and I'm not using stickies with it (yet).... I've just got to adapt my driving style to go with it. Given that this car's not going to become any more of a track car than it is and I'm not opening up the engine to get any more power, I'm just happy to stay true to the original philosophy of lighter weight being better If I bugger them I'll get some new MMCs over and just got easy on them.... ain't no way I'm going cast iron
In a couple of years when I can afford an Exige, I'll stick with cast iron and then go to town making it fast around the track (SC 2.4L honda etc.... or whatever the current engine swap of choice is in a few years time)

I thought it was just me

But then I've never sent them ANY money and don't own a Lotus so I'm not in a position to grumble.

I'm sure the helpful types will be able to answer any questions put to the committee, on the right form, in triplicate, witnessed by a JP, and with the right fees paid.
