Just heard a piece of a radio advert that sounded like you could go on a F1 driver training holiday at the Ascari track.

Without driving off the road I think it was a company called 'Viagio' (sp?) and possibly 0800 100 799 ???

Anyone know more ?

I can vaguely remember reading something about this in evo / autocar a while back. I'll try to fish out the article for you, but in the meantime check out www.ascari.net/subsecciones.php?idioma=2&&seccion=16&&subseccion=9

There are several companies offering this type of holiday. One of the ones I looked at a while ago was in France. You spend a few days driving Formula Renaults, then F3 cars and finally got 4 or 6 laps in a genuine F1 car! You could buy extra laps at 150.00GBP per lap!

I'm pretty sure I saw the same company advertising recently and they'd upgraded to mid-nineties Benettons - as driven by Herbert and Schumacher.

I've promised myself that I'll do it one day.

Of course you could just buy yourself an older F3 car (entry-level carbon tub) and slap a V8 (Rover, SBC etc) onto it. That would be a pretty good substitute and you can pick up F3 rollers in Europe for $15k!

sounds like fun, though personally I'd prefer a rally-school type thing. I'd love the opportunity to go mental in an RS1800 BDA (haha like they'd use those for rally-school)
