Ok, so my girlfriend isn't a PistonHead by a long shot... but she's been looking at getting a car to replace her ageing Honda CR-X del sol (horrid, horrid thing) and after looking around, she settled (without any persuasion from me) on this:

It's a NZ-new Peugeot 306 GTi (the GTi was the very late-model formerly known as the GTi-6) and is the last GTi registered new in NZ (one of the last 306s).

So she's now driving a pretty prctical, economic car that'll do nearly 140mph, has 176bhp on tap, is a cracking drive around the corners, a close ratio 6-speed gearbox aqnd is FUN TO DRIVE..... Somehow I think I'm having a positive influence on her

It's not George's missus, it's his right hand playing tricks on him.

Hehe, sadly "Esprit's Missus" isn't my missus….. Although I'm intrigued to find out exactly who she is … my REAL missus has however read this thread and is highly amused

Nice car - drove one a while back and they're a bit of a hoot on the twisties alright. Will it be making an appearance at Pukkie any time soon?

Hah, amusing indeed.

I doubt that my car will be making any appearances around the track, at least for the near future unless it's the boy driving it and why would he take the peugeot when he has the elise to tool around in?

He had offered to let me possibly take the elise around Taupo in the weekend so I could get my first taste of track driving, hopefully they would have had a 'nana' division. But since that's been cancelled I'll have a chance to get my cowardice back.

I would love to join the 'chick ranks' around here Kylie, but to be honest I only really look at the threads that George mentions as amusing. The rest of them are more than a little over my head, as I'm not that much of an enthusiast... yet
