Was killing time in Paper Plus today, so picked up a book on John Britten.

He owned and race a TVR Griffith!!!

They is now an even bigger legend in my books!
If a grey one comes up for sale with the plate SZ5, I suggest someone buy it quick smart!

Yeah, it was a bog standard car though, not like the Whittaker Griff' with 5-stud hubs, AP brakes, roll cage, uprated suspension and a proper pre-cat 5.0litre. A very quick car.

A couple of guys at the Britten factory commented on John owning a TVR when I visited a few years back. My engine builder in Christchurch developed the V-twin engine for them - John had some great ideas but occasionally they were compromised by aesthetics!

Here's something new: "everyday" is adjectival-as in: "My everyday car" Otherwise it's two words, as in; "You learn something new every day" Oh, and , by the way Too is spelt too (not "to" and losing is spelt losing ( not "loosing"
Now, I think my sock drawer needs tidying....

but I thought you didn't need to speak English to get a job in this country anymore? (one of my lecturers thinks we should all speak Maori instead)

haha...talking of Bush, the best couple of quotes I've heard from him so far:

"border relations between Canada and Mexico have never been better"

"we like to refer to natural gas as 'hemispheric', because we find it in our back yards"

"we are committed to NATO, we are a part of NATO. we are committed to Europe, we are a part of Europe"

and many, many more at www.dubyaspeak.com

I blame Roger. He led me (and this thread) astray.

BTW - Ted seems to have been busy.

if you go to [my info](in top menu) >> [preferences] then you can change which way up it goes. but it gets confuzzled sometimes and changes for no reason.
