Santa is revving up the sleigh . . .

In one weeks time speed cameras all over the planet will burn up in a speed snapping frenzy.

Have a very merry and SAFE Christmas.

And remember that every pound you put on ruins your power-to-weight ratio.

Yep merry xmas from here in Christchurch.
I saw one of the evil speed gun thrusters just outside Hoki today - in a 50 zone as well, there seems to be no limit to their evil wrath!!!

Ahhhh the wonders of technology......

Three hundred years ago, some poor sod would have had to travel, probably for nigh on a whole year to get a message from Blighty to New Zealand. As it is I can rattle away here, in an absent minded way, and wish a merry christmas to someone I've never met completely for free.

Merry Christmas!

Hehe merry christmas to y'all too

I'll be joining the mass exodus of Auckland on Friday night and probably taking 7 hours plus to get to Hawkes Bay... never mind, I'll be in my beloved silver bullet so every minute will be an utmost pleasure

merry christmas guys, have a good one!

(I put another 1000km or so on the car this weekend and I'm not even on holiday yet! might be spending a bit of fuel this summer)

Safe driving George. Friday will be one of the worst days on the road. I'm lucky enought to be able to delay my trip until Boxing Day or the day after.

Dear Santa

I've been a good boy this year. Could I please have a small oil-well for Christmas . . .

Hehe yeah... well I might possibly decide to do the trip down very early on Saturday morning to avoid the traffic if I so decide. I'll be in no hurry to get down... I love long journeys in the Lotus, and this will be one of the first I've done by myself

Last christmas, I drove down on Christmas day (saturday), leaving at about 3:30am.... was a nice clear trip down, barely any traffic at all

But yeah, either way I'm not in a hurry and just want to enjoy the christmas exodus along with anyone else... I'll be driving safely, defensively and alert.... so long as noone tts into me, I should be fine

pretty please?

the weekends trip involved the pig-route, the Kawarau gorge (twice), and the Lindis pass, among other bits of road, so at least I had some fun depleting the world's fuel supply

Pig-root? (sp?) Is that some bizarre South-Island student right-of-passage?

LOL...well maybe for the AgSci students at Lincoln....

Actually its the road from Palmerston (just palmerston, not palmerston north ) to Ranfurly, heading into Central Otago. (road continues from Ranfurly through to Alexandra/Clyde).

I have no idea at all why its called that, maybe thats the way they used to take pigs out from central to the coast? or maybe some fool just thought it would be a funny name...

parts of it are quite fun anyway, heading up through the hills.

Actually, Merry Xmas to you all. However, if Santa gets me socks again, he'll be getting redundancy and we'll be outsourcing to China.Delivery from North pole is just not cost-effective anymore. May consider an offer from him to merge/jobshare with easter bunny, but no promises.

Merry Chrimbo everyone!

I'm (fingers crossed) picking up a new car tomorrow. Ya
Nothing exciting, just a Mazda SP20, but hey, it's something new, so therefore exciting!

Take care everyone and have a good break!

Yup, merry xmas to all, hope santa fills your stockings with something nice

We're looking forward to the novelty of our first summer xmas, trips to the beach, BBQ's, etc. It'll make a pleasant change from freezing our butts off

Merry Christmas all. Early Xmas morning drives are always the muts nuts because everyone else is sat at home ripping open their presents. I always enjoyed the thrash to my parents when I lived in the UK.

Happy New Year too!

Yes, it's a sad reflection on my life that I've put more thought into my Xmas morning route than any of the gifts I've bought. Oh well... Merry Christmas guys, take care and if you can't take care take pictures.
