We usually go down to Timaru and further south every year. This yr we have decided to drive down and take some time to stop off and enjoy our beautiful country at various spots. Hoping to pack the bike in there too.

The crazy relatives have hired Dunedin's ice skating rink for xmas day for a white cold xmas..? Catering included! Should be a laugh...never thought I would have to take the woolies and extra padding for the backside!

Hopefully making it to Pukkie on the 23rd (assuming I can get off work in time). Christmas at home with family, with any luck the weather will put on a better show than last year. Then off to Sydney on the 27th for New Years / sister's birthday / catching up with a few mates. The holidays can't come soon enough.

*Sniff* not going anywhere special for me... although its a big family christmas in Hamilton for me. Get to catch up with all the relatives I haven't seen all year and its also going to be my last Christmas in NZ as well for many, many years. New Years won't be much better- NYE is my birthday and it'll be my last birthday in NZ as well so it'll be a day split between the parents I think. The only driving I'll be doing will be at the golf course. Don't know if I'll make it to any beaches this summer!

I’m up in the Wairarapa cutting down trees and driving heavy machinery again. Looks like Christmas will be spent with the family up here, might get out camping gear at some stage and do some travelling.

Bugger, I know how your feeling about electrical gremlins, I had heaps when I first bought my car. We gave up fixing them out of frustration and handed the car over to Sim's electrical in Penrsoe for a day to fix a electrical short. Mind you $400+ later Tried charging me $600.00 for eight hrs work. I insisted they only did 3hrs max as I dropped in on them about four times to see progress and nobody working on the car Anyway am over that now.

Pukie on the 23rd with any luck.
Then down to Whangamata that night to pick up Mum.
Bring her back up to AK on the morning of the 24th.
Back to the airport at lunchtime to pick up my brother and his g/f who are flying in from England.
Back home to surprise Mum - she doesn't know they are coming.
Christmas at home - bloated and squiffy sleep in the afternoon where's the champers no I couldn't possibly do another scorched almond oh well all right then what did you feed the dog he is farting something wicked again
New Year's - no idea. Never plan it - it only works if it is spontaneous.
5th - Track Day.
Something will happen in the gaps.

CRUSMUS DAY AT MARAETAI BEACH WITH FAMILY-SISTER COMES OVER FROM SYDNEY EVERY YEAR TO CATCH UP WITH AGING MOTHER AND ESCAPE SYDNEY HEAT, THEN,HOPEFULLY OFF TO THE BACH AT TUATEAWA, THOUGH OUR KIDS ARE PACKING AN ENORMOUS SAD ABOUT THE 3+HOUR TRIP. SO I GUESS IT'S CHLOROFORM AND BLINDFOLDS AGAIN.
