At last...not sure about the rest of the country, but it hasn't rained all day and had some cracking weather so far. Perfect open top weather not to mention a pleasant outing for my baby today too :driving:

Cracking day down at Christchurch.

Got a rental pad at Sumner now, excelent place, 2 min walk from the beack so I was there 8am this morning.

Great weather, picked our 3 cats up from the airport midday, all fine, spend the afternoon in the spa pool drinking beer.

Took the 'lizzy up to WenderHolm beach in the afternoon with the Grilfriend... was the nicest, sunny drive I've had in ages.... looking forward to taking it down to the Hawkes Bay this weekend for a 5-day break but I'll be doing it without my new exhaust... it won't be here in time

Love Wenderholm

Picnics there every few weeks as a kid. Grandfather stuck bananas to a tree complete with Bonita stickers (worked on a 4 year-old) . Climbing the trees . . .

The only prob is that there are some trees that at a certain time of year drop some sticky gum stuff on your paintwork.

Have a safe (sans-scamera) drive around the wine trails. How many cases can you bring back in an Elise ?

Hehe yeah it was the first time I've been up there... has to rate as one of the best picnic spots I've been to ever... sitting on the grass right next to the beach under the trees... will have to go back there later in summer.... perhaps we can have a Pistonheads picnic up there sometime? it's only a short drive up there if you go via the motorway... are there any back roads up there that would make for a longer drive?

Need to pick the right days over summer due to the traffic.

As for roads there's :
- East Coast Rd (from Northcross to Silverdale)
- Kaipatiki Flats Rd (if coming through from Helensville)
- Wainui Rd (inland from Silverdale)
- Weranui Rd (from the end of Wainui Rd into the back of Waiwera)

I'd scheduled Weranui Rd for sealing in 2003/04 but I left the Council before then. Don't know whether it went ahead but chances are it's being used as a haul-road for the Alpurt B2 Motorway construction and is still gravel.

Will need to take the STi out to investigate.

Alternatively we could go from the West, up to Helensville, Kaukapakapa, Glorit, and then through Aharoa to Puhoi (YES, where the Pub is !)

Decisions, decisions. Will definitely need to test a few possible routes
