Well its been a massive project, but I have finally finished designing my magazine. For now it is just a design concept that I did for my senior project at Univ. of Otago. It is intended to appeal to an audience that is into affordable performance and everything associated with that. My idea being that there was a big gap in the car magazines between the new car mags (NZ AutoCar, Top Gear) that focus on pretty high end stuff, and the import tuner mags (NZ Performance Car) that focus on boy racers.

The magazine is divided into four sections:
Modern Classic
Kiwi Built
Amateur Motorsport
Track Day

Here is a quick site I put together to show the various layouts, with links to PDFs if you want to look at things more closely.

I'd be quite interested to know what everyone thinks, and all feedback (good or bad) is appreciated.

very nice, good effort. If you do make future issues, you may be able to get test-drives of cars to review from dealers in exchange for a bit of a shameless plug. just an idea.....(and if you want a copilot for testing, just let me know )

edit: just read the "southern scenic drive" article and noticed that the article itself seems to involve a drive around auckland, and is completely unrelated to the pictures, buit i guess its just there as an example and you already knew all that....

Where do I get a years subscription?

Nice work mate! Deffo fills a gap in our mags.

Only one problem, in your Top 10 Hot Hatchs the 205 GTi is only 7th!!

Only thing I can fault is the letter to the editor where it questions a review in the "last issue" when it's your first issue

Other than that it looks top-notch... if it was on the shelves I'd buy it in an instant... I think you could price it against or maybe even slightly upwards of NZ Autocar... certainly above NZPC.
