Laser gun calibration?
Discussion
got pulled over last night on a motorway for allegedly doing 111kmh (Jesus wept)
Three cop cars parked on the side of the motorway to operate one Laser gun (wonderful use of resources!) and perhaps training a newbie.
When he eventually caught up to me all lights blazing (no doubt going more than 140kmh ) he seemed very surprised/off-guard and very nervous when i asked to see the Calibration Certificate and when the Laser gun was last calibrated he couldn't give me an exact time...
I asked “was it calibrated this shift?”
His answer “yes”
“I can’t see that written anywhere on the calibration certificate. What time?”
“1:00pm”
But again I couldn’t see any solid evidence of that… also this was at about 9:00pm, so if it was calibrated at 1:00pm like he said, that isn’t during that current shift, that’s the shift before (7am-3pm).
Does anyone know the type of Laser guns they use and their operating range? He muttered something about it being tested at 24 metres earlier that day (tiny distance?) and there were at least two cars directly in front of me, one to the side and two behind me.
Has anyone successfully challenged and won in a similar circumstance?
