Hi, I'm Richard.

I thought I'd introduce myself here, instead of lurking until I had something to say, as I usually do.

I'm in Auckland, and recently became the proud owner of a Red Elise 111R. I had a Titanium S2 Std before that, but Roger offered me a deal on his demonstrator...it is the one seen in his ad during Top Gear.

The S2 was my first Lotus and I loved it to bits for the short while I had it. The 111R is a different proposition - I miss the lighter weight, manual and go-kart feedback of the S2, but I am loving the engine and the more refined suspension makes my daily driver (yes, I do) more pothole-friendly.

Still not sure about the colour though - the Titanium was gorgeous. Red is new territory for me. I think it is growing on me though.

I have met some of you - Dean, and I think, Kylie, I met out at Lotus Cars NZ at a club meet some time ago. That was the one and only club meet I have managed to make it to so far!
George I met on the PerformanceCarMag forums - he suggested this forum. Thanks George! BTW - I LOVE your Jag.

I am often at track days at Pukekohe, so if you have seen a Titanium S2 out there over the last few months, it was me. If you see a Red 111R soon, that will be me too!

Cheers

Welcome aboard Richard.

These Elises are becoming a bit commonplace

If you see a Westfield at a Trackday or at the next PistonHeads Run it'll be me.

Hi Richard

Welcome in... we hope you'll enjoy your stay.

It's nice to find out who you are... given that I (almost daily) saw your S2, and now see your 111R in the same place..... I can definitely back up your claims of it being a daily driver!

I saw a red S2 (couldn't see if it was a 111R or not) in the parking lot at Pukekohe on Sunday... was that you?

Anyway, I think you'll enjoy yourself in here as we all do.... I've been doing my best to reel in all the Elise owners I can... I'd imagine that maybe half of all the Elise owners in Auckland are on here.... so it's a good place to be!

I'm still in the planning stages of a run mid-september and most of us in here, just a leisurely, brisk drive around some nice country roads and there's likely to be a handful of Elises there again.... would like to see you there.... keep watching this forum for details

As for the Jag... it's just got to have the hood fitted and it's all finished (apart from the boot liner)... it's all legal now and whill hopefully be doing a roadtrip up this ways sometime soon (lives in Hawkes Bay at present)

Again, welcome and will look forward to meeting you and having a close look at your 111R!

Signed, George (The Unofficial Lotus Elise Owner Recruitment Officer for PistonHeads New Zealand.. ULEOROPHNZ for short )

Hi Richard, sorry for the delay in responding to your post..been away for a few weeks on leave. Welcome aboard and hope to see you soon. Think George is organising another run sometime soon, so will catch up soon.

Cheers
