And all at walking distance from my new apartment

Between the Red Bull Air Race, this and next week's Dance Parade, Rotterdam is becoming a rather vibrant place now - no doubt helped by a council that's ot afraid of making bold decisions and doesn't succumb to NIMBYs by default.

nice Saab!-I'm trying to get rid of a softtop 900 in auckland in the winter. No bites (grrr)
-I found this site by accident-was there an actual race or just the exhibition event?

Thank you!

It was basically a motorsport demo, no actual racing (for which the 'track'- basically a 'dogbone' consisting of three main streets in the center of Rotterdam with turns at the end - would've been woefully inadequate) - but the Minardi F1 cars driven by Albers and Doornbos were piloted through the course a good deal faster than the 120 km/h limit set by the organisers; top speeds were probably double that, and in excess of 200 km/h at the very least.

Lots of doughnuts and other forms of creative rubber burning going on, too.

Looks like it.... there are actually a fair few of them over in Europe... there's actually a racing series for them in Holland I believe.
