I don't seem to be able to get a consistent story re the legality of fixed harnesses in a street legal vehicle. i've had people say it's fine to replace with harness provided its on your vin, others say you have to do X number of race meetings per yr and others still say you'll only get a warrant if you leave the inertia-reel belts in.there seem to be plenty in the fraser club running with harnesses and WOfs but I need the final word

My understanding is that if the car has been complianced and LVVTA'ed with harnesses then you can have harnesses (and I do )

As you have a Fraser™ I would go directly to Neil Fraser and ask him. He will know exactly what is legal (or can be made legal) on your car.

Not to add confusion BUT -
I checked this out with my car, you can run certified harnesses (check what cert is required as the rules have just changed) as long as you have a current racing log book and a racing liecene - in the car.

Not sure about the new imports like XTR2 ? thought it would be the same ? As for harnesses with top reels as per the Mclaren F1 car etc, not allowed them either way unless it comes standard on the car - I think ?

Contacting Fraser is a good idea.....
After that SHOOT the rule makers and get someone to simplify everthing !!!
