I have to fly back to NZ (welllington) for a bereavement sadly. I played and was successful in the MIQ lottery for an emergency spot in Iso but I was wondering if anyone here had been through it themselves?
The internet and FB is awash with good and bad stories but nobody tells it quite like it is, like PH.

Great to hear a positive story as it really seems to be a mixed bag from what I’ve read! Since the weekend they’ve changed the requirement from 14 days to 7, so with myself arriving on Saturday I’ll be at 8 days so provided I pass the testing on-site I’ll be able to spend 2-3 days at home isolating following my stint in the hotel.

I’m planning to work next week so that’ll keep me occupied, work through the night and sleep through the day to save me burning holidays sat watching Netflix. I’ll get my exercise out with these times! I’ll let you know how I get on, thanks Ford hating your experiences.

Yes me and my wife did it in January when we moved here from the UK. We ended up in the Grande Mercure in Auckland. We had a suite room and food was fine. I enjoyed it tbh 2 weeks of no stress and just watching tv. I was also a bit apprehensive about getting out which was weird at the time felt a bit like a prisoner does about going back into society lol.

I did my 8 days in thr Rydges hotel, Rotorua. Huge room and most importantly plenty of food. Also had a really good timetable for getting outside, allowing at least 12 hours every day to get fresh air and to walk around thr rear car park.
Downside - smell obviously from being in Rotorua!
