Possible new Recruit

Was brinignt the Lizzy back to work yesterday and I was just down the road from our building and what did I see parked by the road other than a Azure Blue Elise 111S (S1).... hehe they're getting common in these parts!
Anyway, long story short... chatted to the owner, he's a youngish guy called Scott (I think) and he bought it new in the UK (early 2000) and he just brought it back when he and his wife moved home... he was asking about trackdays and stuff... I told him he should maybe join the Lotus club and also told him to pop on here because there's a good little community here that he'd probably find useful.
Interesting though because S1 111S's are rare as hell here... must be one of only a few in the country :cloud9:

Just popped along today actually... was nothing left of the car show when I got there though... one or two of the TVR lads were still there though, got chatting to him and it turns out their run is next weekend, might be worth tagging along to... I wonder if Jamie or Paul are going to be going along.
Hello!
Was weird coming out of a mates place and spoting a silver S1 complete with owner and camera
Guess I'll introduce myself, names Scot I moved back here from the UK in November after spending 4 years working in the UK and one in India. Bought the car new back in Feb 2000 from the dealer in Alderly Edge just south of Manchester, complete with only 12 miles on the clock!
Did quite a few fish & chip runs while I was in England, and I did the big Stelvio rally in Spetember 2000, that was incredible, one of the best road trips ever.
Managed to score 'TYP 111' as a personalised plate. MAF/customs are w*nkers! They broke my boot release so it sat on the docks for a little longer that it should have, managed to finally get the thing back on the road Christmas eve! $130 for a vacume! I watched him do it, 30 seconds top and he missed a tree load of leaves
Does any one here know where you can do some track time? On something thats a little forgiving with run-off's? UK has so many and the old airfields that are a laugh and u feel safe pushing it because when you get it all wrong all you get is grass. But now that I am back I stuggle to think of anything like it here. Hmm and the insurance to go with it I guess.
Been meaning to join the club here, things been a little mad settling in. Anyway a big hello :-)

Yes welcome in.... always nice to have some fresh faces around here... especially if they're Elise drivers
Kylie's probably got the most trackday experience here, or possibly Dean (KiwiLE) and they're both very active Lotus club members.. Talking to one of them would be a good start.
May I also direct you to the Pistonheads Midwinter Run thread on this forum too... few of us are organising a meet-up and drive on Sunday 24th July if you're interested in coming along... don't worry about being the new guy as for most of us in here, it'll be the first time we've put faces to names as well
Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay. There's a wealth of Elise collective knowledge on the Elise/Exige/340R board too
