Roger tests the flame-spitting New Zealand built Saker RSC, plus a sneak peek at the new 450hp Hulme F1 Enzo-beating prototype.
Not quite sure what to expect . . .

Yeah... not quite sure how it intends to do that with a mildly tweaked M5 V8..... but yeah I gave up watching that programme after 2 shows... it was just so bad it was painful to watch.

I've never actually seen a Saker moving, just in photos, so I think I'll watch for that

And of course to see how close Hulme orange is to Maclaren orange

Well I missed it! Bugger, but if it was anything like previous showings of TVNZ' Torque Show, it is rather watered down and embarrassing.

As for the Saker, its just like any other car with a spaceframe and fibre body.

I'm still cleaning up the couch from when they compared the Saker to a Morgan

They WHAT?!?!? Oh god *shakes head* I missed it due to a rather attractive young lady showing up at my digs about 10 minutes before it started

I saw a couple of trailers for this show, and thought I better try to catch it. In the end, I got a 'better offer' and missed it.....sounds like I didn't miss much.

I hate this show! Not funny or clever, no insight into the cars at all really. Thankfully Top Gear is still on at a decent time.

Anyone care to comment about the lines being used around Taupo

I've never actually seen the track in person or driven it . . . BUT . . . unless the camera angles were a bit pissed (and the continuity was not directly sequential) I could not understand the lines being taken ???

Best burn ever.

On a more serious note I think that for that kind of motoring you're better off reading Autocar. NZ Tv isnt entertaining at the best of times and they dont know how to get the important bits in like Top Gear do. And unless they're thrashing the cars, (and NZ basically doesnt have demonstrator supercars), there's no point! You're better off sifting through a good article on the car, or watching/downloading Top Gear.

There are two apexes on the last bend before the start finish lines on the back straight, which I guess could look quite spastic for an onlooker. The hair pin also has a wide cut in line action. Are these the ones your perhaps meaning? I have done quite a few track days there plus formula challenge, so I know the correct lines for the track.

The filming seemed about as stable as an opening sequence for NYPD Blue so it was quite hard to judge.

From your description it sounds like it might not be that straightforward so maybe I should hold my tongue until I've had a go there

Your Westy is going to love it. Its quite a small technical track suited to cars like yours. Enjoy
