Wet n cold weather tyres?
Discussion
Hi
I am after recommendations for tyres with the most possible grip, when driven at legal speeds.. in the cold and/or wet?
Many hi perf tyres are unhappy at, say, 5 degrees C but I am scouting peoples experiences for just that.
Keen for snow recommendations as well.
The car might be a Golf R and the tyre size might be Summer: 235/40/18 Winter: 225/45/17
cheers

Judging by regular car tyre prices here, it may be cheaper to import them yourself!
I have been considering doing the same - getting the tyres from BlackCircles.com (or another online seller) and having them shipped here.
To make it work, you would have to get them to take the 20% VAT off at export - easier said than done.
Next car I buy, I'll order another set of wheels at the time of purchase to make it simpler to swap the wheels over when the temperature dips - it certainly does down here in the South of the South Island.
