Car Trials or Treasure Hunts

Do car trials still exist in NZ? Think they may be called treasure hunts in the UK.

Basically given a set of driving instructions, need to use maps etc and navigate to various timed checkpoints, with a load of signs along the way guiding you, the signs would have clues which would lead to an overall answer at the end.

Used to be run by organisation like the Auckland Car Club and there were local and national events (Gold Star Trials spring to mind)

I think PHer 'Gator' is involved with similar events, though perhaps more social than competitive.

Mini club / Datsun z club have a night trial on the 20th June.
