The fun police are at it again. Its a shame - what next. Last Sunday I was at Pakuranga sailing club doing a triathlon and some local person called noise control as the person on the mic was toooo loud! Honestly some people need to have a good look at themselves.

No speedway? What do you mean has it been pulled for good or have they just pulled this weekend's meeting?

I agree, people these days are so bloody precious.... We live next to Orakei Basin which means that during the summer, Auckland waterski club has events there nearly every weekend. Now I can't stand boating and stuff really, totally not my thing but it's a fantastic thing to have in the area.... noisy for sure with the way the sound carries across the water, but I wouldn't want them to go anywhere else.... awtching those skiiers is a great way to spend the day sitting on your front lawn with a cold one in hand!

Yep been called off. They dont want to risk getting the fine. They cant run good events under 95 dec set by the council. Its looks like a bleak future for the sport.

I must admit I haven't been there for quite a while - but I find it amazing that people can move next to a race track, and can then make a complaint about the noise. What makes it even weirder is that anyone listens to them!

I went on the march yesterday and I hope you all did too.... felt I had to... I'm no speedway freak but we have to stand up for motorsport in this country... and democracy in general.... NZ is quickly becoming "minority rules" and that's scary!
