For those who follow the Lotus happenings thought I had better post some pics of the recent sprints at Taupo. We had beaut weather and packed out numbers for the day.
Heres what happens when you have too much power and not enough grip in the right places

Whoops!

The Exige got some hot times around the track as expected.

Lotus fever everywhere

Another minties moment.

Throaty V8 getting some stick

Not quite a 007 but close enough

Hi, there were only three Lotus 7's this meet, usually a lot more 7's turn up to the local Auckland meets.

The 7s were probably going too fast for Kylie to keep up with. (With her camera, obviously!).

They were fast but I beat the 7's, V8 aaaand some of the lises too Not that I am bragging or anything. Guess doing a bit of formula challenge certainly helps with the techi stuff.

One day when some of you guys get your cars sorted, you should join me. Best thrill anyone can have. The on board camera captured a wee spin I did. Made plenty of tyre noise, did a safe landing in the grass.

Name the time & place Kylie - I'll be there!
Can't wait for Puke to get running again - but in the meantime there's the summer & the beach with all this awesome weather we're going to have (thinking very very very positively here)

You did well to beat a V8 Kylie.... As for joining you, I'll be about 2-3 years.... I've just sorted out an engine finally so things will actually be moving FORWARD for a change.... got a LOOONG way to go, but I can get those creative juices flowing now

Cool sure thing! I think Puke has been put down for March? So gear your car up for around then. Will confirm the date nearer the time.

Ta mate, yes be good to have you out there. The V8's that I know of that do track days just have std performance tires on. On a small course like Taupo, they cant keep their power down on the tarmac so they are all over the show. Its amazing what sticky tires can do to your lap times and decent pads that wont fade. On the other hand at Puke they say bye four banger see you at the finish.

Hehe yeah, must be frustrating... I've never liked Puke as a track, basically it's a horsepower fest and that's all. Now Ruapuna or Manfield, that's a different story.... good mix of everything... and yes, I forgot you run RA-1s on the track.

My car is still at least a couple years away from being finished, but as of early January I officially leave your team for the dark side Kylie.... no longer a 4-banger lad... my engine bay will be preparing to receive 8 of Blackpool's finest (ok so the engine's built in Coventry, but you get the picture) :P

I dug up this old thread... fotango seems to be down at the moment, Kylie do you have the images you took at this event still? I just had a thought and thought that one of the pics you had of an Elise spinning out might have actually been my car... well before I bought it

I know my car was there, and it did go for a bit of a spin or two with the original owner at the helm

She'll be back there on the 3th (at puke) but as a spectator only as I've not got a spot at this trackday I'll bring my helmet, just in case anyone's taking passengers though
