Well after spending the best part of this year searching for a job Ive finally accepted one.

Im going to be an investigator for IRD, based in chch.

I accepted it yesterday and they want me to start on Monday the 22nd so its gonna be a hecktic week trying to sort everything out.

Probably wont be online much for awhile after that until I get everything sorted out but will be good. More money/time for cars

And you admit that...? Only kidding, well done. I've been doing some work with some of the investigators from the Hamilton corporate division and it's fascinating stuff, especially some of the major scams that people are pulling off. Should be very interesting.

Cheers
Richard

Good onya Paul.... have a good tie while you're "away" and we hope to see you on here soon, with the resolve and resources to upgrade from that rice rocket of yours into a real car MG V8 anyone ?

Way to go dejoux! Hope it all works out for you. Check out trademe for some bargin new computers/laptops they are going cheap as chips. Its good if you know what your looking for. We are on ADSL at home too, its fantastic, never have to shut down the connection. I never want to go back to dial-up after having this.

I agree, we've just got DSL in our flat, the second flat with it.... we got a wireless router too, which means all my flatties with laptops can surf for car porn while lounging in the sun in the front garden

Does that work well? Here we have my parents desktop and sisters laptop both connected by a cable to the same router.

When my sister first got hers we had wireless networking setup between the two but it was shite. Kept losing its settings and had to uninstall it and reinstall it every couple of days

That was using things like this

Im guessing your talking about a different setup?

And by car porn are you meaning stuff like this?

We've had no problems at all with the wireless netowrk at all..... must have been the setup... it works great,. I'm hardwired to the router and my flatmates access it by the wireless... makes for very simple and cable-free networking

As for the car porn.... mmmmmmm *drool*

Karma, karma karma karma karma karmann ghia.....

Glad to see you're getting sorted. I am in the process of trying to move somewhere for the summer (Mt Maunganui, if anyone knows of anyone needing a flatmate) and its a royal pain in the XXX trying to get set up! Good luck.

First time ive been back on this site. Got myself a laptop now so back into my usual habits, though still not online as much.

Chch is good. First couple of weeks all the locals complained it was cold but i thought it was hot, though the past week has been pretty shit.

Work seems good. Im gonna be pretty much only training for the first 6 months or so before Im capable of doing any real work. Will be 2 years before Im capable of doing everything myself. Seems really interesting so far though.

Carwise has been pretty quiet. Ive got off street parking at my flat but no garage so thats annoying me alot, gonna have to find a place to rent (if anyone knows of anything near merivale gimme a yell).
