Cracked my windscreen with my head... :(
Discussion
Here's a novel one. Dropped my phone in the passenger footwell (when parked of course...). Leant over to grab it, then banged the rearview mirror with my head on straightening up - quite hard, but not outrageouss - and the windscreen cracked! About five 15cm lines radiating out from behind the mirror mount.
BMW M3, E46. No windscreen cover
I'm sure that will be cheap to replace. Not to mention the intermittent fault in the gas discharge headlamp that seems to stop it igniting sometimes (usually when at VTNZ undering an inspection...).
Yesterday wasn't a great day.

I've always had glass cover and don't know why you wouldn't with the cost of windscreens. Also it covers all glass, headlights, indicators, lenses etc.
I've just put a claim in for my rear centre reflector on the 911. Over $800 here in NZ for one! $500 out of US but with my glass cover FREE

Oh man, thats crazy. E46 M3 is my fave BMW too.
Just be careful with quotes from insurance companies. I know for Nissan Skylines they use a cheaper glass (i.e. not the original) as my wife had to get hers replaced years and years ago, and the window wasn't the same colour as the rest of them (its green instead of brown?) and also has a pretty crappy surface in terms of water beading etc.
I got a quote for a GENUINE back window - $1,000 or so. So might pay to ring them back and see if its a genuine window?
