Pleased to say our Viper Venom GTS made the 14,000 mile journey with only a minor scartch to its nose (rubbing carboard). It has now covered more sea miles than road ones!Just got to get it registered for the road and then were be in business....or not..with 100kph limit, don,t think it will ever use 5/6 gear again (redlines @ 105kph in 1st )And my wife will forever hold its highest speed to date..300kph,done on a standing mile at a very long runway in the U.K).We hope to have it ready and entered for the Speed Week @ Dunedin next year, then further 1/4 mile events on the South Island. It now feels like the missing member of the family is finally home!

Yay great news!! I am so glad your car made it ok and only a small scratch. I always wonder how container ships get on with rough seas and what the contents are doing Have you hooked up with the Hot Rod club or other muscle car clubs down there yet?

Conrodders 1/4 miles sprints along portsmouth Road on the harbour are in Feb or March run during the Dunedin Festival week and I am certain the crowds would love to see a Viper smoking along that 1/4 mile......

Hreat pics! Looked like a fine sunny day for unloading it. What a beast!!!

Have you thought of doing some touring racing? The NZ Targa is getting pretty famous for this now with so many different cars in it. Every person enters gets a photo taken and named in the NZ classic car mag. www.targa.co.nz your car would be perfect for this.

I saw a Viper on Sunday. As soon as I saw it I thought of you.
This was in Christchurch, and didnt have the wing, so it cant have been.
Was blue with white strips though.

Great to see the pics. Awesome! Good to see it made it fine.

Are you going to drive on the UK rego for a while and then switch to NZ or doing the NZ straight away?

AFAIK you cant drive on UK plates, you have to register a car here.

Maybe its different for cars for a specific reason like competing in the targa or the rally of nz or something, but general road cars cant

You can temporarily import a car into NZ and drive it for up to a year on the foreign rego.
I did it on my 340R (it has UK plates).

You may need to be a tourist though, I'm not an NZ resident, so I didn't check that.

But LTSA site has all the details.
