Convertible Rental Chair
Discussion
I'm flying into the South island in beginning of January for 10 days or so. I'd like to have a convertible car of some description for there, but struggling with the usual options (Hertz etc). I've found loads of MX5 rental places, but would rather something a bit more impressive (think corvette/mustang rental in the USA).
Any suggestions? Will be flying into Christchurch.

Stang or Vette, no. Not much available that I know of. More likely to get a Porsche, BMW Z4 or other Euro soft top.
I'd actually choose the MX5 for our roads. Small, good handling and lighter on fuel. You can only drive so fast before you loose your keys.
If you've not found many rental sites then here are a few that do more than your average Corolla, although it looks a bit like the same cars being offered by different compaies...

Thanks for those. The first three look to be the same company when you get into it.I'd actually choose the MX5 for our roads. Small, good handling and lighter on fuel. You can only drive so fast before you loose your keys.

Maybe we're best with a Mk3 MX5.
