Cars been covered in paint
Discussion
After spending last weekend claying, polishing and waxing my car, it appears that the people repainting my wifes work have repainted my (once) shiny black car with white spots.
The problem is theres not a company here that I would trust to touch the paintwork without covering it in swirls and marring, so would have to do the work myself. Can I request payment for me to do another 2 days worth of work to the car and for materials costs etc?
Or am I better off just not caring and just redoing it?
When I was in the UK this was an easy fix as I had 3 awesome detailers within 20 miles, but over here theres just nothing like that (In New Plymouth btw)
The car would definetly need re claying, re polishing, glaze and waxing again. Which the products alone cost about $200 (used Polish Angel stuff so a bit more expensive than Repco fare) and then I spent about 15 hours on the car.
So ontop of trying to chase my neighbour for money to repair my bumper he drove into (then promply moved to Raglan) I have this to deal with.
It's really frustrating because the car I use for work is a stbox and never has anything happen to it.

Cheers guys,
I've actually got my car booked in for the aforementioned bumper repair (when I finally see some money for that) as I work next door to them so super handy.
The painters have obviously done this many times before as they have a guy they use to sort it out, but unless I can see examples of his work I don't want him touching the car, which I personally don't think is unreasonable, but will wait and and see.
I'd be happy just to get the cost of products used back, as I'd just got the car looking the best it ever has and then this happened.
Why is it though you finally get a car your proud of and every f***er damages it, we've had the rear bumper done, 3 doors either dented or scratched and the windscreen replacement people broke the trim surrounding the windows

Less people care as it's a different mindset. Don't even get me started on dinks in door and the careless way people park. It's all still very much worth it in the great scheme of things (the move I mean) but annoying nonetheless.
I bought a Porter Cable, pads and polish with me as I figured the word 'detailer' wouldn't register with most people over here so that base is covered

Me too, I had to massive plastic tubs filled with detailing stuff, slowly used all my Zaino up but found maxdetail.co.nz and Chuans been a star, definetly worth having a look if you need anything.Less people care as it's a different mindset. So far the company responsible have agreed to pay for the products, so I've sent them the link to what I want and just waiting to hear back to see if they've packed a sad about the cost lol.
But Chuans going to hold the order for me and I'm going to add a few Polish Angel bits to it. As I really want to try their Carnauba flake shampoo and the flash air freshners.
They've offered to cover the costs of products which I'm happy about, probably works out cheaper too lol
just waiting to see the money now.
And off to start small claims proceedings against my neighbour today as he admitted in writing he damaged my car, agreed for NZ panel and paint to repair it, then moved to Raglan the week before and left no money.
Only thing that worries me is it was 18 months ago and it took me this long to track him down.
