Wondering how many Lotus Elises there are in Christchurch, and how many others might make an appearance for North Canterbury Classic on 24 March. Would be good to have an outing with a few others. I know of 4 S1s and have seen a couple of S2s around...

Hi
There are a few Elise owners posting on here but I think i am the only one in Christchurch? There would be at least a dozen Elises in Christchurch and most of them seem to be S1s.

I have never come across that event before - is it new?

I'm fairly new on here but think we've met on Kiwibirkin's evening blats a couple of times... He's not organising much since he moved to Australia! So that makes 2 of us in Chch. I know of 2 others in Lotus club. The club usually have a few cars at the NCC run.
North Canterbury classic is a good day out if you like any kind of classic cars, usually a good turnout. Best with navigator as route isn't published ahead and requires some clues to be worked out, otherwise follow someone else! Link attached. I haven't been for a couple of years but have babysitter sorted this year...
If you're keen for more evening blats I can post them on here next time I organise one.

Hi there,

I too have seen several about the city. The North Canterbury run looks an interesting event. I will have to check the calendar. The British Car Rally comes down from Blenheim on Friday. I wonder how many people are going up to join the last leg? Unfortunately I need to work (which is a crime since I have two British made cars)!

Are you Malcolm with the silver S1 Elise?

Definately post on here if you plan anything and i will see if I can make it along. Theres a few others here in Christchurch - you may have met redmist336 with his TVR out on one of the runs Stephen arranged last year?

Yep, so much for anonymous persona ;-) Thinking I might take half day on Friday after all and head up to Kaikoura for British car rally. Might be able to squeeze another evening run in before the nights get too gloomy, but March is a bit busy. You interested in this north canterbury classic?

In case you weren't aware, they are not only traveling from Kaikoura to Christchurch tomorrow afternoon, but on Saturday they are assembling in Hagley Park for a picnic.
