Another TVR T350 on the way
Discussion
Hi,
I'm looking at bringing a T350 over to New Zealand in the next few weeks. I'm based in Auckland but currently on holiday in Manchester. If anyone wants any spare parts picking up to put in my 20' shipping container and share a bit of my shipping cost then please feel free to contact me through here.
Cheers

on hols in Manchester.....hmmm.. Have you visited Benchill ??
Free muggings, the cream of the welfare dependants, and the local takeaway. (of cars that is)
[the most deprived area in whole of UK, in the middle of the infamous Wythenshawe council estate and just happens to be where I was dragged up (more than) a few years ago and still looks pretty bad from web photos !! ]

Hi Matt,
Would you have space for a set of 4 wheels (no tyres) for my S1 Exige?
Still unsure at the moment, but if I could sneak them in at low freight cost and avoid paying insane amounts of tax at the border (they could be "spares" for your Tivver) I might have to see if I can organise a set pronto!
Your old S1 looks lovely. Cobalt is a great colour for 'em!

Hi Matt.
That T350 looks like a nice one....caught up with Jim during the week and he mentioned you bought it.
I also have a Chimaera on the way over so the garage is getting full.
Enjoy your trip & catch up when you are back.
Brendon

Haha - Failsworth isn't that far in front of Wythenshawe by all accounts. I remember dating a girl from that area in my early twenties, lets just say i've found it difficult to try and forget her.Free muggings, the cream of the welfare dependants, and the local takeaway. (of cars that is)

Hi George, I received your email, cheers for that and no problem, just waiting on a quote to come back from the shippers (should be this week) so i'll mention it to them and find out how we'd go about adding your wheels in my container from an insurance perspective because I had mentioned adding a couple of engines in with my TVR but they said the insurance might kick up a stink if they can't be properly anchored down. (apparantley they've been cracking down on adding extra freight in with cars because of the extra risk of damage that can be caused).Would you have space for a set of 4 wheels (no tyres) for my S1 Exige?

Cheers re. my old Cobalt Exige - one of my worst decision of my life was letting that go back in 2005.
(I'm sorry I just can't resist...)
Failsworth ?! We used to DREAM of living in Failsworth !! Every day we licked the road clean....<CUT!!> No prizes for guessing where that comes from...
Yeah, there were some interesting women/girls around in Wivvy too, with lets just say "rather low morals". I got my other half from Stockport.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the offer, but I've managed to get a hot deal on the wheels out of Japan. Good luck getting your car here. Perhaps when you're in NZ we can swap for a drive... get a spin in a well-done S1 again and I'll sample your T350

Ignore my last email then haha.
That's a deal!
Look forward to meeting you when I get back.

I dont suppose it was a long holiday and you are not back yet?
Haha, yes sorry for the lack of update...I got back on the 8th July after attending 1 of 2 training courses with my work in Sydney. The T350 was still some way off though due to delays in various shipping ports on the way but did arrive at POA on the 8th August.
Apparently it passed the MAF inspection no problem so after I paid the shipping agent for everything (shipping, insurance, GST etc etc), it was released and Jim picked it up.
I'm in Melbourne right now, been here since the 5th August after attending the 2nd of the training courses and have been based here helping out on large project with work.
I'm due to fly back to Auckland tonight and scheduled to see Jim tomorrow to sign some docs which will proceed the VTNZ and NZTA compliance.
Fingers crossed there's not too much longer to wait now.

Looking forward to a glimpse at your Chim in the flesh.
I had a good look under your Chim today Brendon, there's quite a lot of rust on the chassis, wishbones, bushes etc. I'm sure you were aware of all this before You bought it?
I take it you're going for a body-off and full chassis restoration in the mean time.
Nice big brakes on it though :-)
