Dunno, it's 3600 metres long, how far to get up to his goal? 1500-2000? The only bonus is that it's flat I guess. And the article on stuff says 1500 rear wheel horsepower, so have they ditched the 4wd system to save weight?

I'm a little late here, but I felt like mentioning that plenty of cars get over 200mph (320kmh) at the Texas Mile events. I think the record was around 245mph (392kmh) with a similar powered Lamborghini. Auckland runway is over twice that length, although I don't know how much space you would need to stop from over 200mph.

I'd imagine the "Rear wheel horsepower" might a journalist who doesn't know what they're talking about.
