E type Jag Hire in Christchurch
Discussion
Why do you need one just for the day? Perhaps you could 'test drive' this car - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/jaguar/e...
or even ask to hire it?

My Mother lives in CHCH and she has been a petrolhead all her life. Frog-eyed Sprite, mark 2 Jag and now that she is in her early 70's and carting grandkids around she has had to give up her Mazda MX5, which she loved. I really wanted to hire her an e-type, her dream car, and thought that for her birthday (17th September) I might be able to hire her one for the day. I realise that it would be difficult and perhaps many hundreds of dollars per day but it would be the most fantastic surprise. Thanks for the help anyway. If anyone has an e-type and wants to drive her to Akaroa (her favourite place in the world) for a birthday lunch then please let me know and I'll make a reasonable payment to cover your time and costs. Would do so myself but live in UK so it's kinda difficult!
Cheers fellas!

Thanks Bull1t, have contacted the website owner and maybe there is a good option there. Have found a classic car hire place in Napier but being in the north island I need to overcome the travel requirements just to have a drive! Mind you, I was gobsmacked to find that the hire rate was $275NZ!! That seems madly low as the more modern S Type was $350NZ. Frankly, for $275 per day I'd hire it for two days! Make the trip north worth it.
