Quick query re Cash

I'm popping over from Scotland for weekend shortly, are Scottish notes accepted in NI (I usually have to go about sourcing Bank of England ones for a trip to England to avoid any hassle).

I'm thinking of Taxis etc before I get the chance to visit a cash machine to get some local currency.

Cheers

But just in case, I can offer a special exchange rate.

For every £100 Scottish or English notes' I'll give you a nice fresh Ulster bank tenner biggrin

Thanks, but I'll pass on that!
(And the English don't do £100 notes for some reason)

I'll gladly accept 5 x fresh £20's

But it is worth noting. Few shops will take anything higher than a £20. Although I'd say that applies throughout the UK.
£50's etc arent overly common anyway. I'd say it's only politicians etc keep stashes of them.

What about Euros when you are coming from the republic? I've heard that some petrol stations near the border will accept both Euro and Sterling? Is that the case?

Nearly all the border town shops will take Euros, and nearly all the bigger retail shops will take them everywhere in N.I. Would advise asking them what rate they are allowing first though.

I have seen signs that some places do take Euros. But as above, wouldnt imagine the exchange rate is too hot. But ya never know. Some of the big places might give a decent rate. Would be harder for the smaller traders to offer it though.

It's handy just to got to a cash machine and get whatever you need out that way. Or just buy on the card.
That'll be the banks exchange rate though
