Anyone any experience of getting 911 wheel alignment done? Think its not as straight foward as normal car ie. would it be recommended to get it done at Porsche(£120) or would Hursts etc be fine.....

Cheers.

Not sure which branch of Hursts....but one of them is supposed to be very good. Might be Boucher...which would kind of make sense given the amount of cars around them lol

I use Mcgowans in Mallusk now for all tyre/alignment related issues.

I have found them to be totally upfront and not hard to pay.

They will check your alignment FOC.

I'm a right fussy fecker to and decided to give them a go after being messed about elsewhere. No issues so far (touch wood).

Ring them about your 911. I'm sure they would tell you if it's an issue for them either that or you will soon know from talking to them.

I used Hursts for my TD5 Discovery. The first time round they left the steering off centre. When I brought it back they weren't exactly friendly about it. When thet were done they left me to negotiate the busy workshop and get back into the car still on the ramps, with a small kid in tow.

The alignment still wasn't right after that. Totally unimpressed.

I was speaking to Agnews about an aligment issue on my Touran. They said that they use Magowans at Mallusk. Might give them a try myself.

Also interested to know price for a full, proper wheel alignment - camber & castor not just toe.

Another vote for Magowans Mallusk. They gave me a full printout of settings before and after. Was quite badly off and felt like a different car after. £46 IIRC

Central Tyres, behind the Ormeau fire station. He'll spend all day at it until it's right, and only charges around £30.
