Where are the good driving roads? With the weather starting to get better.. I'm running out of places to go, and find myself driving the same sort of routes.

Here's a nice road in Tyrone, goes through the Gortin Glens for about 3 miles.

Post up some, I have another few to add!

Mona bypass then up over Hannistown to Nutts corner. Part of the Ulster GP course. Good surface & dont think its frequented by the law.......

Any google street view links? It's good to get an idea of what it's like..

Here's another nice road, runs from Omagh to Cookstown.. Great section of it:

I took a quick look on street view on some of those.. Is Island Magee the 'island' off the side of the east coast? It's still attached down at the bottom? There doesn't look to a bit of bad road on it.

The road around/through Gleanriff Forest Park (Gleanriff Road) looks great too.. It looks fairly popular by the looks of it, haha:

Can't wait for the next good day, i'll have to take a day out and see what they're really like!

A great run is the crossover between North and South from Enniskillen to Sligo. I done a run a few years back leaving Derry heading to Enniskillen, then over to Ballinamore, from there to Carrick on Shannon, headed to Sligo, Donegal Town, Letterkenny and back to Derry.

The N15- Ballybofey to Donegal Town and surrounding drives to Yeats country are excellent roads.

Was coming home from Sligo last week, and missed the turn off for Ballyshannon.. Kept going as if I was heading home through Lifford, saw a sign a few miles down the road for Pettigoe.. Took it to try and get back on the proper road. It ended up being a road up over a mountain, it was a bit of a scenic route but was an incredible road!

I'm considering heading back today to do it.

Carryduff to Comber road is pretty good if you get a good run on it.

Killyleagh to Comber is a nice fast road too, albeit pretty boring. A few long uninterrupted straights, good for bedding in brakepads. wink

A25 from Strangford to Downpatrick then to B2 to Ballynahinch then B177 to Hillsborough. Is always dead quiet early on a Saturday evening.

Also like the B3 (Grovehill Road) from Loughbrickland to Rathfriland. Only discovered that recently.

Nice.

The A46 which skirks the west shore of Lower Lough Erne and visible on your map is smashing too. Anywhere around there, all the way over to Donegal, Sligo & Leitrim is the place to be.

The Ultimate driving road In the whole of the north has to be this little Gem. Uninterrupted by traffic or cops EVER!!! loose screened tarmac and passing through a mountain and forest with drops either edge. Absoultely awesome. Had the scoob up not so long ago. Made my spine tingle!!!

Just on the way between Plumbridge and Draperstown. Up a small road on the right! I mean it if you ever get the chance to drive anywhere in the north let it be this road!! You will thank me

This was a usual wee testing spot for Eugene Donnelly (4x Irish Tarmac Champion) a few years back, along with this little stretch of road through Davagh Forest
