Following the sale of my VR6 a few weeks ago, and the total loss of my other car last week, I am car-less. Currently awaiting insurance company to contact me regarding a payout but given the time of year, this could take weeks. I've been scouring Gumtree/eBay/Autotrader etc. in the vain hope of finding something with 6 months test and some tax & local to me (East Belfast) to knock about in for a while.

I'm watching a 1996 Mondeo Si 4x4 on ebay and a 1999 1.25 Fiesta LX, but chances are they'll go for more than £500. I could go beyond £500, but that's not really in the spirit of bangernomics...

A proper snotter would be lying in a driveway with no tax, no test and plenty of mildew. wink

PS: Have you had a look on http://ww.usedcarsni.com/ ?

Yes, scoured usedcarsni.com as well. I was hoping against hope that some PHer would have something interesting rather than relying on an a "trader" flogging me something with a load of sawdust in the gearbox.

free ad papers are a better bet. Who wants to spend money advertising a car that may only be worth a few hundred quid ?
