Hi Guys,
I'm just having a poke around Pistonheads today and noticed there are now 300 members going to Rolls Royce HQ tomorrow (lucky gits)

It got me thinking is there anywhere in Ireland North or South that we could maybe arrange a meeting at in 2010? All suggestion/ideas welcome, hey if you dont ask you dont get scratchchin

Will,
I think that one of the best events that P/Headers can go to that has a mutual theme in the Island of Ireland is undoubtably the Phoenix Park Motor Races. This event is free entry - a massive attendance with a great spread of cars, catering, paddock area, close racing and is attended by the members of Octane.ie. Why not a joint turnout it could be the octane-headers event of the year.
Went this year with a few Tivvers from North and South and was an enjoyable 2 day event with an overnight on the Saturday.
The other option not on the island is to fill the Stenna boat and go to Goodwood festival en-mass.
Or BSB/Touring cars at Mondello.
Take your pick mate or await further suggestions- I am sure they will be here soon.

I agree with your comments and suggestion but I was thinking more along the lines of a place or company here in Ireland that you wouldnt normally get a nosey around. I did have any idea about maybe a meeting at an exhaust company I've used a couple of times and getting them to throw in a custom exhaust for a competion winner in return for have loads of petrolheads dreaming of a Tubi. If anyone has any suggestion lets hear them.

speaking from a personal view,i didnt think too much of pheonix park racing, there was some good points, the tvr's speeding around the course was more entertaining than any of the racing, along with the commentary by bob.the company was great and the paddock good but the racing was a let down and i dont think i'd return.
could pistonheads along with other car clubs not start their own weekend event for all petrolheads?yes

the touring cars seems to be a good idea.bounce

The Cars and Coffee meets around the world including ones organised by some of our Southern friends at Octane http://www.octane.ie/forum/index.php are popular, there not much to organise other than at location and date. Do you organise one for say Sunday 27th December(Octane have one on this date but its in Athlone too far for me) to give everyone an excuse to clear off for a few hours or are too many cars off the road for winter?

What about a PH trackday at Mondello

Have a bit of a BBQ, photoshoot and then tracktime.

Will - does Woodsides still have the big sheds of cars? I remember being up one evening at his place with a bunch of folk from the Porsche Club GB about 10 years ago having a nosy round. Sitting in his F40 was awesome! I'm sure if numbers weren't too large he may do it again.

Or what about an evening at one of the rally prep places maybe?
