Unmarked Police Cars FYI (just so ya know)
Discussion
I think a fair number of normal stops are simply because people don`t look out any rear view mirror or have any ability to spot car's that are acting like the police.
I`ve been tailed by the cops a few times in unmarked car's.. Recently (being able to do 70mph up a sliproad onto a motorway) I joined into a group of car's in the "slow" lane and then moved out into the other lane.. The police were unmarked abuot 6 car's behind, pretty obvious once I moved into the fast lane and they went into their "stealth" follow me mode... so I just kept to ~70mph (as I always do )

they do drive alot of cars theres a Mk 4 R32 in the newry station along with a Focus ST and some others
They are not only touring round in unmarked cars but hiding in telephone boxes! was coming out of Belfast on the Malone Road the other night and saw a copper in the box near the Stranmillis junction pointing a radar gun up the road towards town, his mate was hiding in the hedge not far away. He was pretending to make a call while trapping some unfortunate at the same time. Pretty mean, what?
Cumbrian police always seemed to have some tasty in your face stealth - EVO9, STI8, T4 Saloon, and an unmarked Fireblade or two.
Stranraer to Dumfries also involves Mercs Passat and BMW 5's silver and stealth black if your out that way.
Who thought of green uniforms anyway- blend in with the hedges too easy.

In the Omagh area any large Saloon car with an EZ plate gets a very wide berth from me until i go through the following procedure,
Is the car spotlessly clean?
Has the car extra ariels?
Has the car a towbar?
Can you make out a dealer sticker in the rear window?
Is there a dealer name or number on the registration plate?
Has the car got semi tinted windows?
Can you see any semi hidden lights in the rear window?
Only once a car has passed these checks will i attempt to overtake or do anthing which may be described as "making progress"
Current favourites around Omagh are
MK1 Ford Focus both 5 door in red and navy both belfast regs
English X reg Nissan Primera (Sneaky b*****ds)
Various Silver Vectra's all *EZ ****
Various blue (and one red) Mondeos all *EZ ****
R32 Golf (traffic branch)
Citroen Berlingo Van in white (Not Joking) belfast reg
VW passat new shape estate in sky blue
2 X silver/grey latest shape Astra's
Plus various marked cars all usually vectras!
Once you get to know these cars you can spot them a mile off, by the way they are being driven! I've been followed in the impreza once by the berlingo, gave it 5 repeats of the hazards and they turned back towards omagh at the next junction, i guess annoyed that i was driving normally and had been aware of their presence for quite some time!

i may be wrong, but i thought they had to be in view of the motorist to be legal?Francy555 said:

You can see an 'oily' finish to the windows; I presume its the glass that they have in (strengthened?).Francy555 said:
