Trustworthy tyre fitters.
Discussion
I'm planning on travelling to Northern Ireland soon (from South) in the Elise and while I'm up there I want to get some tyres fitted.
Do any of you know of a fitters who provide excellent, friendly, careful service at a reasonable price? Location is not particularly important as I am willing to travel anywhere in Northern Ireland because its as good an excuse as any to shake off the winter blues by going for a good hoon.
Feel free to tell of your own experiences as it'll make my choice that bit easier.
Thanks in advance.

Recently used (twice now) Magowan tyres www.magowantyres.co.uk Follow the West Link onto the M2 and turn off at Mallusk. Real handy to get to.
Cheaper than Hursts, you can call them for a quote and you can haggle a bit. I found the service very good and they took very good care of the car and the wheels (Hursts wrecked one of my mates rims on his Evo but I suppose that could happen any where).
Edit to add. They also check your wheel alignment for free. I was dubious about this (think ohh yeah gonna try and stitch me up) but the guy handed me my keys and said all was fine.

Jim McMinn Tyres on the road between Lisburn and Moira.
Definitely good value and knows how to take care of specialist cars.
Can`t recommend McMinn enough, been using them for years and taking the TVR down next few weeks for some rear's - might be a bit difficult to find if your not in Lisburn (or got sat-nav)Definitely good value and knows how to take care of specialist cars.
Had a similar experience (well my father did) with Hursts. I used to swear by them and im sure they are still relatively good but after they destroyed a rim on my dads 1 week old car and would only pay for a shobby repair job, i'll never use them again.
I tried Carryduff tyres last time myself, really good service and really paid attention to taking care with the rims.
Also heard good things about Mcgowans (spelling!!) and being good at taking care witht he rims.

Probably very late to this thread, but there's two tyre fitters around Belfast I use - Central Tyres and Gilnahirk.
Central are fit for bigger rims, and seem to have a lot of folks with Porkers etc in there getting tyres. They certainly did a good job of fitting tyres on my Lancer without making any marks at all on the rims, and balancing is totally accurate (not a single vibration or wobble at 120+). First time I've seen tyres fitted using the paint marks (dots to valves etc) too.

I used to use peter whyte in the harbour estate who were always pretty rapid and seemed to do a good job. Unfortunately complacency got me and the last time I was there I ended up with a a chip and a sctratch, presumably thanks to careless use to the tyre removing device. So best to go elsewhere if you re particularly fussy!
you'll maybe have burnt half the rubber off those tyres by now,but thought id reccomend carryduff tyres to everyone. ive been going for years now, getting tyres for the tvr,the lotus and my work van along with the trailer, always great service. last year,i decided to try the mentioned tyre depot in lisburn as its five mins from my house,to get four on the van.i noticed the old tyres a bit worn on the inside so asked for the wheels to be re-lined. i was quite shocked to be informed they dont offer this service,i did think this was normal to buying tyres from someone.
ive now returned to carryduff for my tyres and am pleased to say, this is a service they have always offered,no matter how busy they are.
