I thought a few guys on here might be intrested in the info about the new club.

More details here if your intrested. http://www.octane.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=20673

A few weeks ago bobmont anounced the launch of the lotus club ireland and myself (finner) and (g.sport) are delighted to be working with him to make it happen!
The biggest irish lotus gathering to date will take place on the 23rd of november, the venue is kirkistown at the track skills track day.
This should be a fantastic day out as we have reserved 20 places for the track day (only for lotus variants) and these are practically sold out !!!!
I will list the entrants further into the post but first i'll paint a picture of what will be happening and on offer on the day.

1. There will be a number of people traveling from the south and as so there will be a breakfast meet along the way in newry. (anyone north or south are v.welcome for this).

2. The group will then make there way up to kirkistown via portaferry, there is a great kick in this as the reaction from people through the various towns is fantastic. And great drive up aswell

3. Official lotus representitives will be attending the day and bob mont is arranging a couple of drivers and cars from them, with pass laps for all new members.

4. Technical support will be there from peter g. for anyone who runs into bother . We will also have 2 vans and empty trailers in the event of someone having major probs, we can get you home!

5. There will be hot(warm ) laps with Pat Mcbennet, Bob Mont , and myself
and instruction for any newbies (or anyone really)!

6. There will also be a lotus enclosure (warm and dry) for all members with free tea and coffee available and loads of chat banter and of course sgin
and not to mention the men from lotus to give any info they can!

7. Late in the day we will have a club meet upstairs in the bar and maybe a pint

The interest in this is huge and the amount of offers to help out has been amazing! on top of the 20 track day entries we have a huge amount of lotus owners coming with there cars just to watch, from the feed back so far we have somewhere between 15-30 lotus owners coming to watch, chat, and join in the fun, so all in we should have in the region of 35- 50 loti on the day which i'm sure you would agree is fantastic!

Entrants for the track day are as follows
1. BobMont.................211
2. Patmcb...................S2 Exige
3. Motorhead...............S2 Exige S
4. Finner.....................S1 Honda
5. Ducman..................S2 Elise
6. Dubs......................S1 Elise
7. Hag........................S2 Elise
8. Ming.......................VX Turbo
9. Pablo......................S1 Elise
10. AFE......................S2 Exige
11. Goosie...................S1 Elise
12. Derek Burdock.........S2 111R
13. Ken & Damo (mad twins) VX speedster
14. Jasper...................S1 Honda
15. BobMont (junior)......S2 Exige S
16. Official Lotus Driver +car
17. Official Lotus Driver +car
18. Peter G. car t.b.c.
19. Peter G. car t.b.c.
20. still available (be quick)

As you can all see this will be a "cracker" for for all lotus owners, and we hope all will attend as everyone's support on the day is in the interest of lotus club ireland, which as everyone can see from whats organised will benefit the members!
Hope to see you all there!

Sounds like a great day and I am sure that a lot of non lotus people would be glad to come and see your wonderful array of cars. Good luck with the event.

As far as I understand anyone into the cars is more than welcome car or no car.

In theory there will be the first Evora to come to Ireland there. I say in theory as the factory is not the worlds best at getting the new stuff over to us to play with.

I have quite a busy weekend lined up but if possible I would love to come. If I can make it I will go directly to kirkistown, a good run for the esprit. What time do you plan to be there at?

As from what I have read the 23 nov is the launch of Lotus club Ireland. They have reserved 20 trackskill places soley for Lotus. I have no idea if other cars are booked for the normal trackskill day.

It is a mixed day. More a social thing to get all the guys together, some driving some not. In some form Lotus themselves will be there as well which is great support for a new club.

Someone is already on the case with this one. Would be great if we could work it out, good fit between the two clubs.
