Guys,

I was looking at the car at the weekend and noticed the side bolsters on the drivers seat starting to show signs of wear, most likely will be needing attention before im finished with it.

I had a quick search around to see if it was common and if they are repairable, but all the usual google’ing threw up was companies who re-trim seats in england.

For future reference and to stop being paranoid and conscious about rubbing against the seat everytime I get in and out, are there any companies in N. Ireland who retrim seats, or can replace the worn panels??

Cheers
Paul

Try Baron Bedi at Top Secret Evolution - recently moved from Lisburn to Ballymena but has done some good work in the past for my mate Trevor at Sureclean/Hollybrook.

pm me if you need a number.

Cheers Guys,

Things have progressed, VW are changing the foam insider the bolster under warranty but are putting the wear on the material down to wear and tear, which is fair enough.

They have given me the option of paying for a new seat covering and having it fitted at the time of fitting the foam and therefore charging no labour.

I've had a good look at it and to be honest although its slightly worn, the thread and material is still sound with no signs of holes or damage. So ive decided to leave the material cover at this stage and get it changed as and when it need it.

They quoted 150 for the parts but if it was needing done at a later stage it would be 400 with the labour included. What i was really checking, is there anywhere to have this work done besides main dealers so that if worst case, the material got particulary bad in a couple of years there were other options besides the stelers.

Thanks guys for your replies, if anything gives me reassurance there are people out there specialising in this type of work
