to everyone in Ireland
I go to Belfast a couple times a year to visit the family, my uncle keeps asking me to bring over my car as he`s not seen it. But the cost of going over on a boat isn`t cheap when you can get a flight for around £40
So to make a trip worth while, why not do a trackday and take my uncle as a passanger to show him why i enjoy going round in circles lol
I`ve do a search and found:-
http://www.trackskills.com/index.html
and
http://www.bishopscourt.org/
Don`t know if Bishopscourt do public trackdays?
Any advice on the above or if there`s anymore Circuits or organisers would be much appricated
Cheers

Go to www.tsccni.co.uk . They do trackdays at Kirkistown always on Sundays. Very well run and safe. There are other clubs that do trackdays there but are not as safe as trackskills,TVR or TSCC. If you are looking to do a TVR one e-mail colin L or myself and we can put you down for a day on "the fastest circuit in Ireland". What is your car?
Im no expert on Trackday safety. However, i have attended afew TSCC events, as a specatator, and to say some of the vehicles on track were dangerous is quite simply an understatement, at least half of them looked to have been thrown together afew hours before the trackday with a kids Meccano set.
Simply, their may not have been a major incident at a TSCC, or similar, trackday. In my opinion that is more down to a small miracle, more than how a trackday is run.
All trackdays have an element of danger, therefore how safe it remains is down to who attends.

Sorry for not getting back to this thread, i actually forgot all about it
I`m flying out to NI in June for a wedding, so a trackday maybe later in the year or maybe even next year.
Thanks for all your replys
I drive a Lotus Elan SE (M100) slightly modded.
So would a lotus be welcomed and would i have to join the TVRCC? as it will be a one off trackday for me in Ireland. Also Colin if you could give me an idea on the cost of a trackday that would be great.
Was just looking at the tscc website and there`s no prices and looks like a late start for a trackday?
Same again, do i need to join to do a trackday? as it will be a one off for me.
Any ideas on there prices?
Cheers
Jay

Hi Monty, You join on the day and is all the same price approx £50 It would be limited to approx 45 cars but if you are there about 10-30 there wold be no problem. We do the short circuit for a wile and then full curcuit. A good fun day.
If you do it look out for the blue rs 2000 and come over for a chat

Monty,
Without doubt your best route to anywhere in Ireland is the Holyhead to Dunlaghoire (hope I've spelt that right) HSS with Stena. 90 mins is just enough time to have some lunch.
Apart from the variable experience of getting around (M50) or through (Eastlink) Dublin, the rest is easy. There's even a lovely drag strip (sorry, Motorway) all the way from Dublin to Newry.
Mondello's a great track for cars like the Elise (and Fireblade Locost), less so for the less nimble TVRs and 911s. But round Kirkistown....now that's a different story.
Just watch out for that hairpin....I swear they put oil on that breaking zone.....

If you are heading to the North or around the M50 then Dublin port is the better (its on the north side of Dublin) bet and with port tunnel now open its much easierWithout doubt your best route to anywhere in Ireland is the Holyhead to Dunlaghoire (hope I've spelt that right) HSS with Stena. 90 mins is just enough time to have some lunch.
