No posts on the NI forum for over 2 weeks so I thought I'd change that.

How is everyone - anyone got any interesting car-related news or anything at all to say?

Bought a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres from HiQ/Modern Tyres today whilst passing through Enniskillen.
Braking traction was called upon within the first 20 mins of fitting - twice!
Once by a red Celica or something similarly squat but not powerful enough to overtake in 5th/6th uphill, and another by a biker leisurely overtaking a couple of cars approaching a crest.

How's that for ya?

Did you ever get the rear screen fixed in the end? Have you sold the Chim yet?

Hi Buzzsaw

Yes rear screen sorted - thanks for asking. Replacement rear hood section fitted, then my mate tells me he could repair the tear in the screen easily - AFTER I buy & fit replacement! So replacement removed and back in box and original rear section back on car!

Car's still for sale, have reduced the price several times but still hardly any interest at all. Down to £6950 now - just how much cheaper can Chimaeras get?

Last chance now - it's in Autotrader for 1 more week than that's it for the winter, no point throwing away £53 every 2 weeks.

We offered to liven things up from the Irish forum but some had a problem with that smile

TBH not much happening in the Irish forum either as they are all over on octane.ie

Just dropping into say hello!

I should be much more active around Easter when I recon the bank balance will be up around the 'TVR Sagaris' mark smile

my mate had the other chimera in the trader over the last few weeks....a 97 in starmist green....he had it in for £10350 and had plenty of interest...took a while but he got his money! sometimes i think its just the luck of the draw whos reading the trader the day your cars in!

no big news with me....got a new vet z06 which is truly fantastic and also a 95 cinquecento sporting in broom yellow which im enjoying thrashing about!!!!!!!!!beer

Thanks Irish Boy - rub it in why don't you! Ah well, it's nice to hear that at least someone is managing to sell a TVR.

Looks like that's it for me until the Spring again. I can't believe that at £6950 I can't even attract the usual timewasters, dreamers and nutters.

Forgot to mention - the other half had a bright yellow Siecento Sporting for a while, which was a right laugh. I loved but, strangely, she wouldn't let me drive it much. And a Z06 sounds like it could be a lot of fun. My mate recently sold a nice silver 98 Vette.

Hi Mccrakenj,

While dreaming at the weekend, i noticed your car on autotrader, only realising now it was yours, and have to say it is very impressive. But i was doing only that - dreaming, as i have just sold an 06 A4 s-line and bought a focus due to a pending house move and was looking at what else i could have bought for what I spent on the focus. Don’t think the wife would have appreciated your car instead of a "practical" car.

Have to say, your car looks really well and certainly caught my eye. Out of interest, where the photos taken in Stormont??

Good luck with the sale.

Hi Paul, wlecome to the NI forum and thanks for your comments.

Yes they were taken at Stormont, on a rare sunny afternoon.

Tell your missus that the boot in a Chimaera is bigger than most people realise. Not quite in the Focus league though - it would take you a while to move house with it!

And don't stop dreaming - you can always dream of a lovely green TVR Chimaera and a crisp Spring morning with the roof off in 2008 . . . I'll have it all polished up and freshly serviced for you.
