Body Repairers recommended........
Discussion
Oh FFS!
Car damaged as you can see, thread here in the NI regional section titled Body Repairers Recommended - did I really need to add a ?, or was it not obvious enough that I'm looking for a rocket scientist to crack the code!
Of course I'm looking for a recommendation on which Repairer I should consider using or putting forward to the insurers that I'd like to use.
Their "approved" list for Belfast consisted of Charles Hurst and Lindsay Ford - I was thinking Agnew, or Bodytech - or even TK Motors in Bangor.
Those are ones I know of - I know Lexus use Bodytech for some work rather than their own CH guys.
But if there are others whom I should speak with and obtain a quote (the more the better I suppose) then please enlighten me.
Thank you.

You have an attitude problem.
I do know several top repairers in Northern Ireland but I wouldn't wish a ill-mannered person like you on them.

Care to rephrase that? And I'm not your mate!

Great, so why couldn't you have just listed them in your original post instead of getting on the way you have?
Wouldn't that have been the easier thing to do, or is antagonism a character trait of yours?
I've never understood anyone who deliberately goes out of their way to be awkward when the straight-forward option is open for them.
If you can be helpful, then just be helpful and leave the attitude for another forum where it's de rigueur - it isn't here.
In all my time here, you're the FIRST member I've ever had conduct themselves in such a manner in any thread I've been part of - the fact you're from my own country makes it all the more disappointing!
:sighs:
Well really, you have listed all you need, a fine list of body shops, so why post it in the first place...
If you look in Yellow Pages, you will find all you need to know, so go let your fingers walk there and not on the key board.
Really all your post says is look at me, I am a ........ and got my car hit by another ........ what should I do.
Do you have permission of the cars owner to post the photo's, if not you could be landed with court action if they find out..

It never hurts to learn more. I've no previous experience of those I've listed, so I don't know how good they are or not.
Yellow pages will be of no more benefit other than more names that I've no idea as to how good they are or not.
The purpose of my post was to hear from people who've actual experience of repairers and are able to recommend a certain one or two due to their work being spot on and not having to have a second going over because it wasn't done well enough first time round.
The link was to show where the damage was and extent, as that type (from what I can gather) is more difficult to repair and make as though it never happened. - so if any repairer is a specialist or considered top of the class for that type of repair work, then it'd be nice to know about them.

I am always helpful to civil queries on PH.
I was trying to be helpful to you but you failed to state exactly what your thread was about - I sought clarification and was rewarded with an abusive and loud mouthed response from you. You came across as an ill-mannered smartarse.

What's your point? Do you want details of body repairers in NI or what?
is helpful or civil? Your tone (by the addition of "or what" ) said it all.
I honestly didn't think my wording along with the link required a lot of thought behind the responses I was hoping for.
By my 3rd post, beginning "Oh FFS!" I really thought you were taking the piss rather than genuinely unsure what I was looking for. Sure it was a facetious comment about looking for rocket scientists - that's one of my character traits - my fault for not including a smilie to make that more obvious, sorry!
Anyway, what's done is done and if you have a name or two, let me hear them.
On another forum, TK has been given the thumbs up, as well as Autobody in Newtownards - never heard of them, but then not having need to repair cars in the past, its no wonder.
The others I only know through Agnew Honda, CH Lexus, and that TK and Agnew have won awards or something, and obtained some ISO accreditation - which may mean everything or nothing at all - hence why I'm asking if there are others I should consider for whatever reasons.
As for my manners - ill and bad - may I suggest you spend 15 mins reading any one of my numerous posts to gauge my mannerisms, you might be somewhat surprised by what you find.
There's even a couple of threads we share replies in.

I don't think you get to "pick & choose" the repairer when the insurers are paying the bill!
I've already turned down their approved ones, so aside from paying the excess only for it to be reclaimed and refunded, I can provide quotes and nominate which repairer I would like to do the job.

BTW stopped in the roadway with handbrake on and NO footbrake (or brakelights) is inviting trouble.
Disagree entirely - as a driver, it is MY responsibility to assess the traffic in front of me at all times. I don't (and shouldn't have to) rely upon a car in front to let me know whether the traffic is stopped or not. That's the point of reading the road sufficiently ahead and not just what the car directly in front is doing.
I also hate sitting behind someone whose foot is glued to their brake pedal - that's what the handbrake is there for.
Hey PJ S
I can't recommend any good body repairers but just wanted to add to the post saying sorry to hear about the car. Always crap when these things happen. I dont think your pride and joy ever feels the same after something like this.
I also can't really understand the reasons for the other posts. A tad unecessary and over the top.
Keep the chin up

Cheers "feck" - chin always up.
Been to TK and Bodytech - couldn't make Autobody - so with those quotes and Agnew's, I should be able to make a decision in the next day or two and get things underway by Wednesday.
No point dragging it on any longer than absolutely necessary, even (or especially since) though the other side will be picking up the hire tab.

Have you tried Eamon Matheson Jr in Downpatrick (07786898263). Has done some paint for me (I'm in the trade) and I've never had any problems with it. He's a small independant, but puts a lot more effort into doing it right than the bigger companies. Also, if you need it in Belfast, try Haire's on the Shore Road, near Abbeycentre.

Thanks dj - given the time pressure I'm putting myself under in respect of the hire car, I think I'm pretty much settled on TK Motors.
Cheapest quote of the 3 - Agnew's value it at £5K (awaiting the letter, but that was what I was told on the phone earlier today), but they reckon an engineer will need to confirm it. No shit Sherlock!
So, thanks for the names - duly noted if there should ever be a re-occurance (hopefully not!) in the future.
